Kids Homework Club

The Homework Club at Notting Hill Neighbourhood House is a fun and supportive after-school program for primary-aged students. It runs every Tuesday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, with a cost of $30 per term to cover materials.

Homework Club provides a welcoming space for students to work on readers, maths sheets, spelling lists, oral presentations, or any tricky homework tasks. NHNH staff and volunteers sit alongside students, helping break tasks into manageable steps, celebrating achievements, and keeping the atmosphere encouraging.

One of the best parts is cross-age learning. Older students model how to plan a paragraph or solve a maths problem, while younger students help with reading practice and quiz cards. Kids build friendships across year levels, and by the end of term they are often greeting each other outside of club and organising games together.

Special events make learning even more exciting. During Science Week, Animals of Oz presents native wildlife, sparking curiosity and big smiles. Students then create build-a-habitat projects using recycled materials, making hands-on learning fun and memorable.

Homework Club is a space where confidence grows, learning feels achievable, and kids feel proud of what they accomplish. With the support of our dedicated volunteers, students enjoy a positive, encouraging environment every week.
