Street Library

The Notting Hill Street Library at Notting Hill Neighbourhood House is always open and welcomes everyone in the neighbourhood to borrow, share, and enjoy books.

In September 2018, NHNH purchased a large waterproof fridge that community members Margaret and Rob Blair brilliantly transformed into the Notting Hill Community Street Library. Located outside the neighbourhood house, it has become a focal point for community connection and a celebration of reading.

The library offers a wide range of books, including adult fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, comics, and works in both English and Chinese. Visitors are encouraged to take a book, enjoy it, and return it or leave another for others to enjoy.

We thank Monash Council and its Community Strengthening Program for supporting the creation of this library and helping our community engage with the literary arts.

The Notting Hill Street Library is a simple, joyful way to share stories, spark imagination, and connect with your neighbours.
