Caring Together
The Caring Together Hub at Notting Hill Neighbourhood House was created to expand our carers program and meet the growing needs of carers in our community. The Hub provides opportunities for rest, connection, and social support. It helps reduce isolation, build a sense of belonging, offer access to affordable wellbeing activities, and support personal and work-readiness goals.
Caring Together gatherings take place every second Monday from 12:00pm. These small, supportive sessions give carers a chance to take time for themselves. Activities are carer-led and designed around what participants genuinely want to do.
Activities include:
Creative respite – painting, polymer-clay earrings, card-making, sewing, and scrapbooking.
Gentle wellbeing – walks, yoga, breath work, information and support from WaveCare and Carers Victoria.
Culture and story – workshops such as First Nations art with Merindah Gunya
Practical support – service pop-ups and warm referrals connect carers to funded supports and counselling through Carers Gateway, Uniting, WaveCare, and the Carers Network
Who can join:
A carer is anyone providing unpaid assistance to a family member, friend, or neighbour who has a disability, mental illness, chronic or terminal condition, alcohol or drug issue, or who is frail aged. Whether you have identified as a carer for years or are new to this role, you are welcome to join.
The Caring Together Hub is more than a program. It is a promise from the neighbourhood to those who carry so much: you are not alone.
