Food Assistance

Project Food Assistance at Notting Hill Neighbourhood House supports neighbours experiencing hardship by providing free, made-to-need food parcels.

Staffed collection times are Wednesdays from 10:30am to 2:30pm. To access this service, please contact the neighbourhood house and complete a simple registration.

How It Works

Our intake team speaks with each participant to understand family size, dietary needs, cultural preferences, and cooking capacity. On collection days, volunteers pack a mix of staples, fresh fruit and vegetables, proteins, and baked goods, ensuring each parcel meets individual needs.

Food for the program is collected and redistributed from local partners, including Woolworths, Baker’s Delight, Nando’s, Foodbank, and Coles. The program also works alongside Clayton Church of Christ’s Love Loud Meals, which provides cooked meals for some households.

Volunteers

A dedicated team of volunteers including Lucas, Paul, Peng, Boey Wan, Cyril, Meng, Ming, Linda, Jessica, Albert, and members of the Hope Christian Church manage intake, packing, and distribution. Their commitment ensures neighbours have enough food and know they can reach out if circumstances change.

Project Food Assistance is donation-supported and volunteer-run, saving thousands in costs and helping sustain broader food relief work in the community.

Whether you need support for a few months or just until you get back on your feet, the Food Assistance team at Notting Hill Neighbourhood House are here to help.
